Pashto Girls



Pashtuns are not homogenous and hence they do not have cultures and ethics based on a single religion. They not only belonged to Islam they belonged to other languages too. They have stringent rules especially for women. They tend to be bent towards a single orientation of thoughts and it is not easy to get them back from that orientation. The culture and the religion is been defined based on our ancestors. There might be a grandmother with the afghan origin centuries back then they might have the origin of a pashtun culture. Likewise, there are many interrelationships among other religions and the pashtuns. Such culture has a lot of influence on the women.

Sports, Dance and Women
Lot of sports like basketball, volleyball, naiza bazi, and wrestling are being played by the citizens of Afghanistan. Though women are mostly not involved in sports, they play volleyball and basketball in cities. They do not play official matches but they involve in pass-time activities of sports.
Girl perform Khattak dance. This dance involves showing various physical forms along with the facial expressions; they also involve the actions of sword fighting and other physical feats. One of the famous dances is the Attan, which originated from pagan. The dance took a frog leap due to the growth of Hindustani music and Iranian music in Afghanistan. These music got slow power and hey very slowly developed over the years. Girls were the high time dance performers.

Rules for Pashto Girls
Not all pashtun women follow the same rules. The rules that a pashtun women follow differs from region to region. Just like in any developing country, women in rural are illiterate and they do own a job. They depend solely on men for their living and they have rules that are more stringent. They have to follow the rules being designed by the local people. Women in cities and other urban developing area are educated and they are free to pursue higher studies, and own a job sooner. Taliban have directly influenced the life of women in Afghanistan. They have posed very cruel rules that lead to the overall fall down of the Pashto girls and hence they lacked behind in education and economy. The Taliban restricted women to bind by the rules made by man.

Development of Pashto Girls
It was in 29th century were women started to raised and gain importance. During the 20th century, Afghanistan was ruled by the Queen Soraya Tarzi. She was the youngest and almost the first woman to take such a high responsibility. She almost reformed all the social rules and she formed many social organizations to educate women. However, she feels off her throne due to such sudden and abrupt changes in the rules.
Later Meena Keshwar Kamal started the RAWA community that helped women to get educated. She is a student who was detained off her studies and hence fought against the rules been laid against the women’s welfare. She sought educational rights to women and job rights to them. This organization was started in 1980.After this period rapid developments took place in the women education and employment rates. A football team of women was also formed and a cabinet council of women was formed. All these were some of the greatest achievement of afghan women.
