Alesha Anjanette Dixon (born 7 October 1978) is an English singer. After finding fame in the all-female trio Mis-Teeq, she is now a solo artist. Dixon was born in Welwyn Garden City, one of seven children born to a British mother and Jamaican father. She has five half-brothers and one half-sister. She was educated at Monks Walk School, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, and had planned to become a PE teacher after leaving college. After completing a diploma course, she had planned to take up a place at Loughborough University when she was approached on a train by a record producer, who asked her if she could sing, and on the way back home she was approached again by someone who asked if she was in a band. She then decided to put her degree on hold.

Strictly Come Dancing winner Alesha Dixon has denied rumours of a romance with EastEnders star Rob Kazinsky and said she is well and truly single. Alesha said she is still on the lookout for a man, despite reports that she's dating EastEnders hunk Rob who plays Sean Slater on the BBC soap.
